Vengeance, in all its forms

Been a good week, this one. I’ve finished the edits for Sword of Vengeance, which has been really enjoyable. The feedback was great, and the ideas thrown up in the editing phase were cool. The second draft will go back tomorrow – I’ll miss writing about Helborg, though it’s always good to see a project draw to a close.

So, what’s next? Well, time to break cover. It’s 40K for me. Space Marine Battles, to be exact; my first novel-length treatment for the Astartes. Gotta say, it’s a pretty daunting prospect. We’re talking the first Battle of the Fang. That’s a whole lot of M32 goodness, a fleet of angry Thousand Sons, a mountain-full of bestial semi-tame Fenrisians, a Great Company of Wolves, a primarch, and a certain very long-lived Dreadnought.

That’s a Big Deal, in a whole lot of different ways. And it’ll keep me busy throughout the summer. Expect a few posts with updates on progress, and thoughts about writing the Sons of Fenris, soon…
